SAVE THE DATE. November 2 at Museo Galileo

Join us (in Italian) at Museo Galileo for Women of the Flood: A New Future for Florence, 1966. At 5:30 pm, on Monday, November 2, we’ll be commemorating the flood’s 60th anniversary with the presentation of the latest issue of The Curators’ Quaderno.

The event will feature insight from top voices in the fields of restoration and the preservation of culture, as we remember women’s contributions to the post-flood efforts. The Opificio delle Pietre Dure, one of the world’s foremost conservation laboratories, the iconic National Library of Florence and Museo Galileo (known as the Museum of History of Science in 1966) all played fundamental roles in the days and years following the Arno’s flooding. We’ll share mud-angel memories, hear stories of heroism and understand how the flood shaped the lives and careers of those still working to preserve heritage lost… and found… because of the flood.

No reservations necessary, seats limited
